He was a veteran of the United States Army for 21 years, after retiring from the army he joined the Mobile Sheriff's Office until his retirement in 1991. Mr. Lewis had a great love for his wife and fishing. He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife mrs. Eva Lewis three sisters-in-law, Willie Mae Lewis, Mary Asberry both of mobile and Louise Irby of Detroit, michigan, a host of other relatives and friends. His remains will be viewed at Small's Mortuary 950 South Broad Street-Mobile on Saturday, December 13, 2008 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour at 2 p.m., interment will follow in the Whispering Pines Cemetery, arrangements entrusted to Small's Mortuary, 950 South Broad Street-Mobile, Alabama 36603.
