Sister Martha Lewis Gilmore was born May 10th, 1939 in Orrville, Alabama and departed this life on Friday, September 3rd, 2010. She moved to Mobile, Alabama in 1940 where she lived the rest of her life. She went on to accept Jesus Christ at an early age. Martha was baptized as a young girl at Lily Baptist Church and served faithfully in the roles of member, Deaconess (assistant treasurer), and Senior Missionary Department. She was well known for her cooking, love of her family, and spending time with her friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Deacon General E. and Deaconess Della G. Lewis. She leaves to cherish her memories four devoted children, Phyllis (Reginald) Hatch, Vincent (Oleather) Gilmore, Rochelle Gilmore, and Albert Gilmore Jr. all of Mobile, AL. One ex-husband Albert Gilmore Sr. Eight grandchildren, Brandon (Vanessa) Huff, John Huff, Victoria Gilmore, Rachael Gilmore, Reginald Lewis, Crystal Gilmore, Felicia Hatch, and Jasmine Hatch. Two great-grandchildren, Aryanna Huff and Johntriell Huff. Four devoted brothers, Leroy (Frieda Mae) Lewis, Samuel (Willie Mae) Lewis, Sylvester (Jennifer) Lewis all of Mobile, and Eugene (Rosie) Lewis of Huntsville, AL. Four devoted sisters, Barbara (Marion) Brown, Sebrena (Woodson) Huff, Mae Della Starks, and Georgia McQueen. Three devoted Godchildren Victoria (Eddie) Sharp, Valerie (Steven Sr.) Green and Tremayne Hudson. One devoted aunt, Mrs. Margaret Allen. Two devoted friends, Mrs. Alice Fountain and Mrs. Clementine "Boo" Williams. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Visitation will be held Friday September 10, 2010 at Azalea and Lynaum Funeral Service from 3pm to 7pm and on Saturday September 11, 2010 at Lily Baptist Church from 9am until the 11am funeral hour. Pastor Rev. Donnie L. Powell. Burial in Lawnhaven Cemetery. Service of Love Entrusted to Azalea & Lynaum Funeral Service 352 State St.
