Wilma R. Munz Bennett, 87, died September 15, 2012 at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born June 22, 1925 at Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Warren and Verda Alta (Post) Lewallen. She married Robert G. Munz in August 1949 at Hutchinson, Kansas. He died December 1, 1986. She married Charles Bennett in November 1996 at Wichita, Kansas. He died August 14, 2001. A Stafford County and Sedgwick County resident most of her life, Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker.
Mrs. Bennett was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend; and was a member and former secretary of the Kansas Association for the Deaf.
Survivors include two sons: Alvin Munz and his wife Debbie, St. John, Kansas; and Olen Munz, Pratt, Kansas; one sister, Patsy Larkin, Paola, Kansas; one brother, Thomas Warren Lewallen, Montezuma, Kansas; four grandchildren: Brandon Munz, Mandy Ellis, Emily Yarmer, and Bobby Munz; and four great-grandchildren: Trevor Munz, Ty Ellis, Victoria Munz, and Jackson Yarmer. She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Reverend James A. Strasen officiating. Burial will be in Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery, Hudson. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Kansas School for the Deaf, in care of the funeral home.
