Ruben Andrew Lenocker, son of Godfrey Lenocker and Suvilla Drushel, was born in Holmes county, Ohio, October 7, 1864, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Earl Null, in Winterset, Iowa, May 14, 1932, at the age of 67 years, 7 months, and 7 days.

When about two years of age he moved with his parents to Illinois and two years later they came to Madison county, Iowa, settling in Penn township. He attended the Penn township school and then the Normal school in Dexter. He later taught district schools No. 8 and 4 in Penn township.

He was married to Mattie B. Pace in Patterson, Iowa, August 25, 1891. To this union were born: Mrs. Frances Stevens of North Platte, Nebr.; Mrs. Hester Marsh of Delhi, Minn.; George Fred of Dexter; Mrs. Sue Null of Winterset; Mrs. Mildred Wilson of Winterset; little R. A., who died in infancy; Walter Bruce and Martha of Dexter.

Mr. Lenocker served as school secretary of the Penn township school board for over 37 years, resigning that office when he moved to Winterset. He served as county supervisor of Madison county and also as state representative in the 36th and 37th General Assembly.

He was a member of the Presbyterian church of Dexter; for over 40 years was a member of the I.O.O.F., at Dexter and a charter member of the Eva Ann Rebekah lodge; also a member of the Masonic lodge of Winterset and of the Consistory and Shrine of Des Moines.

Beside his wife and children, he is survived by eleven grandchildren, one sister, Mary, and three brothers, Charles W., Jacob H., and Guy W., all of Dexter, and other relatives and a host of friends.
