Phyllis Jean Bennett of Aurora was born November 25, 1929 and departed this life February 21, 2017. She was the daughter of Gearl Lemaster and Mary Oklahoma "Okie" (Bowers) Lemaster. Phyllis was united in marriage to Joe Bob Bennett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Bob Bennett; her parents,Gearl and Okie Lemaster; her brother, Jack Lemaster; and her sister, Mary Jo Henderson.
Survivors incude her daughter Jerry Lynne Reavis and her husband, Butch; her son, Phil Bennett, and her son, Doug Bennett, all of Crane; her daughter, Sarah Swadley, and her husband, Matt, of Aurora, and a sister-in-law, Donna Lemaster, of Nixa. She is also survived by five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many lifelong friends.
Phyllis has been a member of Wilson Avenue Baptist Church in Aurora for more than 30 years, and she taught the Teenage class at Wilson Avenue Baptist for 18 years. She began her Christian life over 60 years ago. Phyllis was a stong and devoted Christian and loved to talk about the Lord and His Word. Her faith inspired so many people. She was able to lead many of them to the Lord. Phyllis was a powerful prayer warrior and had unwavering faith in the power of prayer. She will be deeply missed by her family and loved ones, but we shall all rejoice in knowing that she has begun her everlasting life in Heaven.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 24 at 2:00 p.m. in the Peterson Funeral Chapel in Aurora. Final resting place will be at Osa Cemetery.
