George Mullins, a comrade of Lemaster, said the following about William, "I only knew Lemaster as being in my section or platoon. He could have been a replacement after Operation Tiger. My time was short to get aqainted with the replacement troops. I do remember our foxholes being near each other when he got hit by a sniper from down river. The enemy had steps board nailed to the tree trunks for climbing up the trees."
