"Ethel Lemak Knuth, 97, of St. Anne's Retirement Community, Columbia, died Christmas evening at the Lancaster General Hospital. She was the wife of the late John G. Knuth, who preceded her in death in 1995. Born in Pittsburgh, she had resided at St. Anne's for the past seven years.

Ethel was a devout Catholic and had a deep faith and served her church throughout her life. She also was a Prayer Associate of the Adorer's of the Blood of Christ. A gifted crafter, her work was enjoyed by her family and friends at St. Anne's.

She is survived by her daughters, Jean Ritch, Gainesville, FL, Mary Anne wife of Dale Braithwaite, Lancaster and Nancy Louise wife of Ronald Thoman, West Chester; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. A brother, Albert L. Lemak, Batavia, IL and sister, Elizabeth A. Foote, Peoria, AZ also survive.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from the Chapel of St. Anne's Retirement Community, 3952 Columbia Ave., Columbia, PA on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Daniel Mitzel, Celebrant. Burial will be in Williston, FL. There will be no public viewing; however, the family will receive friends in the chapel one hour prior to the service. At the request of the family, kindly omit flowers. Contributions to the St. Anne's Benevolent Fund, 3952 Columbia Ave., Columbia, PA 17512 in Ethel's memory would be deeply appreciated. Arrangements by the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc."
