COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Paul Alexander Leftwich, 68, of Baxter,
were held at 1 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 27, from the chapel of Dyer Funeral
Home. Burial was in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Leftwich died on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at Cookeville Regional
Medical Center.

He was born on May 5, 1930, in Putnam County to the late Martin Alexander
and Bessie Anderson Leftwich. Mr. Leftwich was a retired foreman at the rock
quarry with the Putnam County Highway Department, after 32 years of service.


His family includes his wife, Dean Dyer Leftwich of Baxter; five daughters,
Debra Chaffin of Cookeville, Betty Custer of Old Hickory, Myra Jones of
Gainesboro, Paula Burgess of Baxter, and Francene Joor of Greenbriar; two
sons, Steve Leftwich of Baxter and Shawn Leftwich of Algood; a sister, Dean
Alcorn of Baxter; 11 grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Joe
Leftwich, and a sister, Boda Waller.

Bro. Glenn Hargrove officiated at the services.
