The following biography was published in the "History of Bosworth, 1887-1985", which was a reprinting of a Souvenir Edition of the Bosworth Sentinel, April 16, 1896:

R. M. LEE

R. M. Lee is a brother of A. J. and was appointed deputy County Clerk upon the election of his brother to that office. He was born in Fulton county, Illinois, January 17, 1868. Came with his parents (Joseph & Hannah Chapman Lee) to Missouri in the fall of 1870. He received a good education in the high school at Carrollton and began to teach school immediately after completing his education. After having taught in some of the best schools in the county he was offered the principalship of the Bosworth public school, which he accepted and which position he held until he was appointed Deputy County Clerk by his brother. He is particularly adapted to clerical work and is an efficient deputy.
