Memorial services were held at Live Oak Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 13, for Gary Leroy Leatherwood who died July 11, in Houston following a lengthy illness.
Gary was born September 7, 1937 in Jack County and had been a resident of this county for life excluding the years between 1960 and 1979 when he worked overseas in Egypt, Iran, Libya and Nigeria for several oil companies.
Survivors include his mother, Thelma Leatherwood, five children; Theresa Leatherwood, Gary Lewis Leatherwood, Jodie Leatherwood, Joyce Leatherwood and David Leatherwood.
Two sisters, Glynda Everett of San Saba and Shirley Nelms of Electra and one brother, James Leatherwood of Snyder.
Gary's body was donated to Cancer Research at the Baylor Medical Center. A Memorial fund has been set up at the First National Bank in Jacksboro.
