Service: 3 p.m. Wednesday in Laurel Land Chapel of the Chimes. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born Nov. 13, 1929, in Fort Worth to Guy and Bertie Wirsing. Betty graduated from Arlington Heights High School. She married Howard Leath on June 6, 1953. She loved to travel with Howard. Some of her favorite trips were to Monte Carlo, Aruba, Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. After Howard died, she enjoyed vacations in Santa Barbara with her family. She was an avid bridge player and so enjoyed her bridge club for almost 40 years. She also had a great love for animals. She loved to rescue them and spoil them rotten. She also loved to do the same for her children and grandchildren. She was a special, sweet, beautiful lady who will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard C. Leath; son, Steven Randall Leath; grandson, Steven Howard Leath; sister, Joice Meador; her best friend, Barbara Stewart; and her precious companions, Buddie and Bitzy.
Survivors: Her beloved companion, Silly Willy; daughter, Deborah Leath of Fort Worth; grandson, Spencer G. Leavitt of Fort Worth; daughter-in-law, Linda Leath of Fort Worth; sisters, Jane Knowles of Fort Worth and Ann Wyatt of Burleson; brothers, Sid Wirsing and wife, Pat, of Fort Worth and Jerry Wirsing and wife, Shirley, of Alvarado; brother-in-law, C.H. Meador of Fort Worth; and sister-in-law, Ann, of Granbury. Betty will be greatly missed by her many loving nieces, nephews and her wonderful bridge buddies.
