Cordelia Rowland, daughter of Sarah Elizabeth and Emanuel Rowland, was born November 4, 1867 at Bigelow, Mo. and departed this life May 13, 1941, at the home of her daughter, Mr. (sic) Gilbert Bowen, at the age of 74 years, 6 months 9 days.
She was united in marriage to William Andrew Thomas, September 8, 1884, to this union were born three children, Ernest Edgar Thomas of St. Joseph, Mo., William Howard Thomas, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mary Gladys Bowen of White Cloud. Mr. Thomas departed this life February 11, 1892.
In February 1893, she was united in marriage to Samuel V. Lear. To this union were born three children: Vinton Elwood, who died in infancy, Raymond Howard Lear of White Cloud, Kansas and Hatie Marie Meek of Columbus, Kansas.
She united in the Methodist Church at the age of 16. She was loyal to His work until her health failed.
Surviving her are three brothers, Pete Rowland, Will Rowland of Rulo, Nebr., Jim Rowland of White Cloud and one sister, Mrs. Willard Rodcap (sic), a step-mother, Mrs. Emanuel Rowland of Rulo, 19 grandchildren, 19 great grand children.
