The Rev. Kenneth Yarno will be celebrant of a funeral mass at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church.
Mr. Laymon died Tuesday at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Indianapolis, Ind.
The son of David and Esta Laymon, he was born Jan. 2, 1929 in Kansas.
On March 24, 1962, in Joliet, he was married to the former Myra Billings, who survives.
Mr. Laymon was employed as a driver by the Kankakee Foundry for 18 years.
He was a veteran of service as a medic during the Korean War.
Mr. Laymon was a former member of the Kankakee Emergency Services and Disaster Team.
He was an avid fisherman and known to many in the as "Sinkerman" and "Kansas".
Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Donna of Colorado; four sons, Donald of Colorado, Dale of Kansas, Bruce Eugene and Duke Edward, both at home; a brother, Glen Wayne of Wichita, Kan.; four sisters, Delores Johnson of Baytown, Texas, Mary Roles of Lebanon, Ore., Sandy Reaves of Humboldt, Kan, and Lois White of Kansas.
A daughter, Penny Lynn, is deceased.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
