Mrs. Buena "Bea" Raymond Lawton, age 94, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday morning, February 4th, at her residence, under the comforting care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. She was a Bulloch County native and retired as a cook with Ed's Cafe in Florida. She attended the public schools of Bulloch County. She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member of the church choir. With her love for singing, she sang in various choirs, including the Historical First African Baptist Church Choir and the Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home Choir. She served as treasurer for the L.B. Lodge #125 for 40 years and also served as secretary for the Statesboro Prayer Band for 41 years. She was also a member of the Christmas Savings Club.
She leaves to cherish precious memories: her daughter, Minister Barbara A. Anderson of Statesboro, Ga.; a brother, Mr. Robert Lee Raymond of Statesboro, Ga.; an aunt, Ms. Tommy Lanier of Statesboro, Ga.; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Mrs. Buena "Bea" Raymond Lawton will be Saturday, February 11, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro, Ga., with the Rev. Lee Hunter officiating. Interment will be held in Bulloch Memorial Gardens, Highway 80 East, Statesboro, Ga.
Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel, is in charge of services.
