CONCORDIA -- Pearl I. Demars, 87, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia. She was born Dec. 3, 1921, in Aurora to Lloyd Q. and Louise H. (Collins) Lawrence.
Pearl married Harold Demars on June 16, 1941, in Aurora, Kan. He preceded her in death on Aug. 13, 1987. Pearl and Harold farmed in the Aurora area for many years until moving to Concordia. They were residents of Cloud County for most of their lives. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Aurora. In her later years, Pearl enjoyed playing cards, reading and sewing.
Survivors include daughters, Dianne LaBonte and husband Jim, of Aurora, and Ellouise Marshall and husband Norris, of Abilene; brother, Delbert Lawrence, of Clovis, Calif.; sisters, Ilamae Elliott, of Camarillo, Calif., Laura Lohmeyer and husband James, of St. Marys, Shirley Chartier and husband Richard, of Clyde, and Geneva Hendricks and husband Neal, of Oxnard, Calif.; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; parents; sisters, Marie McGee and Ruth Lawrence; and son-in-law, Bobby Thoman.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 16, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, with the Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Aurora.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.
