Carl Dean Lathrop, son of, Noahdiah and Lora Lathrop. He died at the age of 48 years old. Cause of death was heart attack.

Carl D. Lathrop, 48, local electrician, died suddenly of a heart attack at 4:45 p.m. Monday while in route to a hospital in the emergency ambulance. He became ill at his home at 513 Boone avenue.

He had lived in Ottumwa the past six years and was an employe of the House of Television on Church street.

The son of Noahdiah and Lora Lathrop, he was born January 20, 1906, at New Bedford, Ill.

Surviving are his wife, Darlene; three sons, Bobby Dean Lathrop, at home, Vance Lathrop, with the air force at San Antonio, Tex., and Francis Lathrop, with the air force overseas; seven daughters, Marilyn Kay, Karen Elaine, Sharon Lynn and Cheryl Lea Lathrop, all at home, Mrs. Jorene Singleton and Mrs. Mavis Farley, both of Kewanee, Ill., and Mrs. Wilma Swartz, Peoria, Ill.; seven grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Lora Lathrop, Buda, Ill.; two half sisters, Mrs. Grace Annis and Mrs. Rose Draper, and a half brother, John Lathrop.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. Harold Henry, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ted Fleming, Don Cassill, Bob Hinebaugh, Fred Weldon, Paul Hansen and Lester Wallerich.

The casket was taken to the residence this afternoon, and will be returned to the Johnson chapel at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
