Feb 4, 1921 ~ Aug 10, 2015 Louise Latham Bethune passed away on August 10, 2015 at age 94. She is survived by her daughters Lynda Bethune of Mountain Brook and Barbara Bethune of Huntsville; brothers Herbert Latham and William Latham of Reform, Alabama; Grandsons Kurt Alan Scheer (Missy Craig Scheer) and John Mitchell Kramer (Melissa Kramer) and great grandchildren Sarah Scheer, Ashley Scheer , Anna Scheer and Jonathan Kramer and one great great grandson Kaiden Scheer and seven nieces and seven nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband John H. Bethune, a prominent real estate developer in Birmingham and Huntsville Alabama and brothers Lemuel Latham and Earl Latham; sisters Alice Ruth Gillespie, Maugene Rozzell and Mildred Cooper. Louise was born on February 4, 1921 in Reform Alabama and lived most of her life in Mountain Brook, Alabama. She was a member of Mountain Brook Baptist Church for close to 60 years and president of the XYZ Club at the church, president of the Birmingham Home Builders Association, a life time member of the Legacy League at Samford University and many other civic organizations. She became president of Sun Valley Developing Company after her husband's death. Visitation will be at 10 AM Thursday August 13 at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home with graveside services at 11 AM at Elmwood Cemetery with Dr. James Mobes officiating.
