ABINGDON, Va. Geneva A. Baldwin, 68, went to be with the Lord Friday, May 16, 2014. Geneva was a daughter of the late Claude Lasley and Rosa Monk Lasley. She was the wife of the late Roger Baldwin. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her father and husband she was preceded in death by two daughters, Laura Shortt and Regina Proulex. Survivors include two daughters, Dianne Salyer and husband, Darrell, Bristol, Va., and Juanita Jackson and special friend, Keith McCracken, Abingdon Va; two sons, Rodney Baldwin and special friend, Renne White Glade Spring, Va., and Brent Baldwin, Abingdon, Va; mother, Rosa Monk Lasley, Lebanon, Va.; four sisters, Virginia "Ginny" Hubbard and husband, Danny, Richmond, Va., Jean Davis, Abingdon, Va., Patricia "Pat" Beavers, Honaker, Va., and Barbara (Polly) Bailey and husband, Mitch, Lebanon,Va; three brothers, Bernard (Bernice) Lasley and wife, Linda, Abingdon,Va., Claude "Squeak" Laslie and wife, Brenda, and Jeff Lasley and wife, Tammy all of Lebanon, Va.; 15 grandchildren: a special granddaughter, Heather Hall; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Combs Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Mitch Bailey officiating. The burial will be at the West Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Va. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2014, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Adam Salyer, Matthew Salyer, Brandon Proulex, Bobby Hall, Jacob Jackson, and Dalton Baldwin.
