Norman was the son of John Laskey and Ann Welch. Norman married Mabel Auten. Children: Grant and Lynn Laskey.

The sudden death of Norman J. Laskey at his home on County street Tuesday night shocked the community. In many organizations, in village government, in his church, and in his home, his passing will be felt keenly.
Mr. and Mrs. Laskey had just returned to their home, and Mr. Laskey had gone into the kitchen, when Mrs. Laskey heard him fall, he had passed away before medical aid could reach him. He was 75 years old.
Mr. Laskey was born on a farm south of Temperance, near the Ohio-Michigan line, March 4, 1866, the son of John and Ann Laskey. Following his graduation from a Toledo high school, he taught school for several years, in Dundee and Cone schools. He was united in marriage to Miss Mabel Auten March 17, 1892. Mrs. Laskey passed away in 1934.
They purchased a farm in Milan township in 1898 and Mr. Laskey became one of the best known men in the township and for several years served the township as supervisor, treasurer and in a number of other official and semi-official capacities. Mr. and Mrs. Laskey and their family moved to Milan village in 1912 and again Mr. Laskey took his place as a leader in the community. He held a number of offices in the village government. For twelve years he served as post master. He was a member of the village council several times and at the spring election had been elected for the third successive time as village assessor. He was a member of the Milan Methodist church, and served as a member of the board for many years. He was alaso a member of Milan Lodge, No. 323, F.&A.M. and of the Commandry and Shrine, and the Monroe Council. He was also a stock holder in the Peoples State Bank and a member of the board of directors of the American Furnace & Foundry Company and of the American Boiler & Foundry Company.
In 1936 he was married to Mrs. Agnes Ball of Flint.
Survivors include the widow, two sons, Grant L. and Lynn, Milan; five grandchildren, Norman, Pennsacola, Fla; Derwood, Ann Arbor, and Phyllis, Janet and David, Milan, a brother, Eaton Laskey, Dundee, and three sisters, Mrs. Mina Dix, Blissfield; Mrs. Frank Gillowny (?), Norwalk, Ia; and Mrs. Melissa McOlenathan, Temperance. Services will be held at the Stevens and Bush funeral home Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William A. Johnson of the Methodist church officiating. The Masons will attend the funeral in a body.
