Mary Nell (Langston) (Ford) Morris was born on June 26, 1923 in Paducah, Kentucky, the daughter of James M Langston and Mary ( -- ) Langston.
She graduated from Augusta Tilghman High School in 1941 and went to work for AT&T while her 1st husband Ed Clark Ford served in World War II. When Ed passed away she went to work for The State of Tennessee in the personnel department. Mary was married 2nd on December 22, 1971 to George Pierce Morris Jr (1914-2015), the son of George Pierce Morris Sr and Iola (Nations) Morris.
Mary belonged to the Brentwood United Methodist Church, the Elk's Club and the Sertoma Club of Nashville, and she and George traveled the country to "watch the tide."
An avid gardener, Mary was 90 years old and a resident of Nashville, Tennessee when she passed away on June 21, 2014 at the Heritage of Brentwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Martha Langston; brother Marvin Langston; grandson of the heart John Neal; and great-grandson Riley Williams.
Survivors include her 2nd husband; a married Ford son; two stepdaughters; two granddaughters; seven grandchildren of the heart; four great-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren of the heart; a sister-in-law; a goddaughter; a loyal and loving caregiver and friend; and three honorary great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
