Eleanor A. Berger, 85, Hays, died Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at Hays Medical Center. She was born Nov. 25, 1927, to Benjamin Lang and Anna (Pfeifer) Lang in Ellis.

She moved with her family to Hays where she attended Hays public schools.

She married Joseph Berger on May 24, 1947, in Great Bend.

She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Hays.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; two sons, Joseph Berger Jr., McPherson, and Dennis Berger, Topeka; two daughters, Judy Weigel, Hays, and Connie Schmidt, Victoria; a brother, Andrew Lang, Hays; 6 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth, in 1973; an infant grandson, Joseph Berger III; a daughter-in-law, Linda E. Berger, in 2013; and a sister Marietta Janda.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, with rosary at 7pm.

Memorials are suggested to the American Kidney Foundation and can be left in care of the funeral home.
