Virginia Diane Lang Fleming, passed away at St. Thomas Hospital on March 31, 2012. Virginia was born in Queens, New York on February 27, 1918, and was raised in Richmond Hill, LI.

She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, John Raymond Fleming and her parents, Otto C. and Catherine L. Lang.

Virginia was a graduate of Brown's Business College, completed an art scholarship at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and attended New York University. Most recently, Virginia was an eleven-year resident of St. Paul Senior Living Center in Green Hills.

Prior to moving to Nashville, she and her husband were residents of Westport and Mystic, Connecticut for nearly 50 years.

Mrs. Fleming served as President of The Patterson Garden Club, Chairman of the Republican Town Committee, and member of the Mystic Garden Club for 18 years.

She was survived by her son, Richard A. Fleming, Sr. (Sarah) of Nashville; three grandchildren, Kiernan F. Kutasinski (Dave), Richard A. Fleming, Jr. (Julie), Benjamin D. Fleming (Polly); step-grandson, Alan Keith Simpkins, Jr., four great grand children, and; brother, Wesley W. Lang, Sr. (Marion) of Naples, Fl and two nephews and one niece.

A private memorial service will be held for the immediate family. Mrs. Fleming will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery beside her husband of 58 years.
