Barbara C. Landers, of South Glastonbury, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday (January 13, 2009).
She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late John E. and Alice (Dooley) Landers.
She received her B.S. from St. Joseph College and her M.A. from the University of Connecticut. Barbara taught in the East Hartford School system at the McCartin, O'Brien and Langford Schools, retiring in 1995.
She is survived by her cousin Margaret Chasse of Newport, RI, Margaret's children Mary Beth Crouse and her husband Edward and his children Branden and Brent of Folsom, CA., Jacqueline Saunders and her husband Richard and their children Michael and Andrew of Broomfield, CO., her cousin John J. Eagan and his wife Jeannette of Windsor and their daughter Sandra Hopper and her husband Andrew of Willmington, NC. Barbara leaves behind many dear friends in the R.R.R. Chapter of the Red Hat Society, her good friends; Connie, Dale, Dottie T., Gloria, Janet, Margaret, Lorraine and her furry friend Nikki and her Golden Sweethearts who are waiting at the Rainbow Bridge.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 17 at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Road, South Glastonbury.
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Hartford.
Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury on Saturday morning from 8:30-9:30 a.m.
