Mrs. Guilbeau was a native and lifelong resident of Sunset. She was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Altar Society, sang in the church choir and was one of God’s Little Dusters. Mrs. Guilbeau was a very soft spoken, kind person and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking for her friends and family.
Survivors include one son, Donald James Guilbeau and his wife, Candace, of Sunset; five daughters, Christine Guilbeau LeBlanc of Sunset, Sandra Guilbeau Huter and her husband, Donnie, of Lafayette, Annette Guilbeau Comeaux and her husband, Craig, of Cankton, Stephanie Guilbeau Barry and her husband, Bret, of Sunset and Angela Guilbeau Clark and her husband, Dave, of Duson; sixteen grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilbert Guilbeau; her parents, Alexis Lanclos and the former, Alcia Richard; four brothers, Steve Lanclos, Dudley Lanclos, Eastin Lanclos and Alexis Lanclos, Jr.; and five sisters, Noeda Robin, Della Zerangue, Verlis Martin, Hazel Leger and Terez Leger.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.
Pallbearers will be Donald Guilbeau, Donnie Huter, Craig Comeaux, Bret Barry, Dave Clark and Charles LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearers will be all her grandkids.
