Services for Allan Ray Lambright, 55, of Katy, Texas and formerly of Palestine, Texas were held Jan. 4 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery Bell Towers in Houston with Steve Allison, chaplain of VFW Post 247 in Tomball, officiating.
Mr. Lambright passed away Dec. 24, 2007, at his son's home in Arlington. He was born April 23, 1952, in Palestine as the second son to Albert F. and Deola Mae LeGard of Katy.
At the age of two, Lambright moved with his family to Katy. He loved sports in school, being a Little League All-Star pitcher for three years and a high school football quarterback in Katy.
Mr. Lambright served his country as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps from 1970 to 1974 as part of the NATO Alliance. He was stationed in several European Countries, including Turkey and the Isle of Crete, before returning to the United States with a National Defense Metal and others.
Mr. Lambright and his family lived in Katy, Victoria, and San Benito, where he was a manager of the Depot of Frozen Foods.
Lambright was married to Marjlyn Sue Hacyznski of Katy and leaves behind three children, Jacob Rosser of Katy, Nathan Allan of Arlington and Allison Ray Lambright of San Benito. He had three granddaughters, Cicilia Platinum Cisneros, Morgan Allems Merts, and Pheidra Jade. Other survivors include his mother, Deola Mae LeGard of Tomball; brother, Bobby Lambright and wife Ellen of Magnolia; nephews, Jonah of The Woodlands, and Joseph and Jonathan of Magnolia; nieces, Laura Bailey and husband, Allen and their sons, Malcom and Mason, all of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Leslie and Steve Swanson and children Dylan and Faith of Katy; one aunt and two uncles; seven cousins; and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Ernest Lee Lambright of Katy, in 1991.
The services included a 21-gun salute, Taps, folding of the flag and return of caisson shells. Chaplain Allison delivered a Christian service with prayer and readings from the Bible about living and death and the hereafter.
