Mary Briggs (Lambert) Bond was born on November 4, 1920 in Lewisburg, Tennessee, the daughter of Edgar Folk Lambert Sr (1892-1949) and Pauline (Dance) Lambert (1899-1971).

Mary was a graduate of Marshall County High School and Carson-Newman College where she was a member of the A Capella Choir.

On a choir tour she met her future husband, Charles S Bond, who was then pastor of First Baptist Church in Athens, Tennessee. Her unfailing love for him and wise friendship strengthened and adorned his pastoral ministry in Athens and at Central Baptist Church, Fountain City.

Her wide-ranging interests created an environment of learning that enabled her four children to discover their unique gifts and vocations.

In 1986 Mary moved to Nashville where she found places of service at Woodmont Baptist Church and Judson Baptist Church.

A resident of Nashville, Mary passed away on November 28, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers Edgar Folk Lambert Jr and John D Lambert; and sisters Martha (Lambert) Watkins, Ann Lambert, and Rebekah Dance Lambert.

Survivors include four children; eight grandchildren; brother; two sisters-in-law; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial was in Lone Oak Cemetery at Lewisburg, Tennessee.
