Spanish Fork Stake Patriarch, Grant Ronald Lamb, 85, passed away Wednesday May 23, 2001 in Payson, Utah.

He was born Nov 6, 1915 in Hyde Park, UT to George Z. and Jane E. Grant Lamb, the seventh child in a family of five sons and two daughters.

Grant attended schools in Hyde Park and Richmond, UT and graduated from North Cache High School. He earned a BS degree in Agronomy at Utah State Agricultural College.

He married Eva Fern Whitby June 26, 1941 in the Logan LDS Temple. They are the parents of two sons and two daughters. Grant served three years in the South Pacific as a Pharmacist Mate in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked for the U.S. Federal Government for 31 years in the Bureau of Reclamation as well as the Soil Conservation Service.

Active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he loved serving in many callings - patriarch, bishop of the 8th Ward, high councilman, and stake executive secretary. He worked 25 years in the Provo Temple where he served as a sealer and assistant to five Provo temple presidents. He served three missions for the church: the German-Austrian Mission, the Swiss Temple, and as Church Temple Missionary Coordinator.

Wherever he has worked he has found life interesting and challenging. He loved the Lord, his family, friends and his country. He enjoyed gardening and sharing the produce with neighbors and friends. He especially enjoyed doing temple work.

He is survived by Keith Lamb (Zona), Lakewood, CO; Myrna E. Tolley (Lynn), Midland, MI, David Lamb (Patti), Sandy, UT, Susan Locke (Jerry), North Ogden, UT; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Friends and family may call 7-9 p.m. Mon. May 28, at Walker Mortuary, 187 S. Main in Spanish Fork. Services will be at the Spanish Fork Stake Center, 1006 E. 200 S, 12 noon Tues. May 29, 2001 with viewing 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment, Spanish Fork City Cemetery with military honors by the Spanish Fork American Legion Post #68.
