JEWEL MAXINE DODSON, 77, of Marlow, Okla., passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2008, in Lawton.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Denton Baptist Church, with Rev. Joe Price officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery, under direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Maxine was born Sunday, Mar. 22, 1931, in Lawton, to Otto M. and Nora G. Lamb. She attended school in Lawton. She has lived in the area all of her life and in Marlow for the past ten years.
Maxine married Herschel Wayne Dodson on July 21, 1950, in Lawton. He preceded her in death on Apr. 5, 1994. Maxine loved to crochet, work puzzles and work in her flower garden. She was a member of the Denton Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Michael Dodson of Central High; a daughter, Lana Baker of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren, Jeremiah Smith and Tonya Joyner; two great-grandchildren, Connor Joyner and Parker Joyner; a brother, J.T. Lamb of Frederick; three sisters, Cleo Baker of Sterling, Florene Hollybee of Elgin, and Marlene Wiles of Duncan; a son-in-law, Erik Joyner; and two cousins, Betty Fraze and Glen Lamb.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Clay Dodson; her parents; two brothers, Lonny Lamb and Homer Lamb; and three sisters, Leonna Blackstock, Mildred Sallee and Pauline Carson.
Pallbearers will be Erik Joyner, Jeremiah Smith, Bob Wiles, Terry Wiles, Nathan Bowers and Amy Snell.
