"Daughter Of Former Texas President Dies At Houston. HOUSTON, July 20 - Mrs. Loretta Lamar Calder, daughter of Mirabeau Buonaparte Lamar, second president of the republic of Texas, died at her Houston home today.
She had lived here for five years, coming from Galveston. She was born in Macon, Ga., November 18, 1853, and was christened in the home of Sidney Lanier, the southern poet, who was a close friend of the family."
