Leona M. LAKE, 97, of New London, Missouri, died at 8:45 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013, at her home.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. The Rev. Richard Epperson will officiate. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery in Rural Center, Mo.
Mrs. LAKE was born November 11, 1915, in New London, Mo., to Homer and Lillie LAKE MILAM.
She was married to L.W. "Buck" LAKE on February 23, 1935, in Pittsfield, Ill. He preceded her in death in November of 1981.
Survivors include 2 daughters and 1 son; 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son Lester Dean LAKE Sr.; one sister, Lola TAYLOR; two brothers; five grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Carol LAKE; and two sons-in-law, Carl STOUT and Wayne MORRISON.
Mrs. LAKE was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing cards and loved to dance and listen to music. She was very involved in her community, serving many years on the Senior Housing Board and the New London Park Board. Mrs. LAKE loved spending time with her family and her grandkids. She attended Bethel Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Cemetery or Community Loving Care Hospice, in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Roger Stout, Stephen Stout, Rodney Stout, Douglas Stout, John Lake, Melvin Lake, Dwayne Morrison and Howard Lake.
