Violet Neristte Lair Dunn,72, of Auburn, formerly of Alton, Carlinville and Girard, died Friday at St. John's Hospital.
She was born Oct. 29, 1924, in Alton, the daughter of Elijah and Carolina Frances Eyer Lair. She married Thomas E. Dunn Sr. in 1944; he died in 1987. Mrs. Dunn was a homemaker and a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Auburn.
Survivors: six sons, Thomas E. Dunn Jr. of Carlinville, Larry D. Dunn of Pine Bluff, Ark., Stanley E. Dunn of Sheridan, Ark., Dennis R. Dunn of Blytheville, Ark., Donald Dunn of Honolulu and Brent Dunn of Virden; two daughters, Judy Ann Davis of Mesa, Ariz., and Mrs. Rufus (Delores Kay) Fugate Jr. of Auburn; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Manuel Lair of East Alton and Elmer Lair of Brighton.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday at Stults-Neece Funeral Home in Palmyra. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
