DEXTER - G. Peter Lagasse, 71, died March 21, 2013, at Mayo Regional Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft, after a long illness. He was born Jan. 17, 1942, in Old Town, the son of Rodolph and Dorothy (Bennett) Lagasse.

Pete served in the U.S. Air Force as a flight mechanic for four years. He worked in the family owned IGA store in Dexter for several years, and also worked for Cianbro Corp., Pittsfield, as a millwright/foreman for 17 years.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Peggy Lagasse of Dexter; two sons, Michael and Christopher Lagasse; a stepson, John Yakulevich and family of Ocala, Fla.; a brother, Robert Lagasse and family of Derry, N.H.; a sister, Bonnie Lagasse and family of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Dexter. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Parish Hall, next to the church, after the service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Mayo Regional Hospital, attention: Mayo Administration, 897 West Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426, in the name of G. Peter Lagasse.
