Col. Earl H. Lafont, Jr., passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the age of 87.

Beloved husband of Ana Maria Rivas Lafont of Managua, Nicaragua.

Father of Linda M. Lafont, Earline Fletes, Brenda Perdomo, Analisa Lafont and the late Ana Lorena (Lori) Schnuelle.

Son of the late Earl H. Lafont, Sr. and Lessie Mayeux Lafont Auzine.

Brother of Donald Auzine and the late Betty Ann Auzine, Hazel Russo and Raymond and Larry Lafont.

Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Col. Lafont served in the US Coast Guard during WWII from 1942-1945, volunteered in other branches of the Armed Services, volunteered as Deputy Sheriff with St. Bernard Parish, joined the US Coast Guard Auxiliary where he rose to rank of Lieutenant Commander and was a Colonel in the LA State Guard.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 1:00 PM. Rev. Bill Schnuelle to officiate.

Friends may visit after 11:00 AM.

Interment in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
