Blountville -- George (G.F.) Lady, 82, Route 5, Blountville, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at his residence of an apparent heart attack.

A native and lifelong resident of Sullivan County, he was a member of Blountville United Methodist Church. He was retired from Vulcan Materials Corp., of Kingsport.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jamie McCoy Lady; one son, Donald Lady, Kingsport; three brothers, A.M. Lady, Kingsport, James Roy Lady, Bristol and Walter Lady, Normal, Ill.; one granddaughter and one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Blountville Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. James Henry and the Rev. Herbert Daugherty officiating.

Friends and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in the Gunnungs Cemetery.

Fostine Lady was the son of George Washington Lady Jr. and Florence S. Snodgrass. He married Emma Grace Cain April 20, 1927 at Fordtown, Sullivan County, Tennessee. They had one child, still living. Following her death, he married Jamie Sue McCoy June 5, 1948 in Sullivan County. They had no children.
