Born in Halifax County on May 3, 1922 to the late Ben Anderson Lacks and Mary Coleman Lacks, she was first married to the late James A. Coleman and later married to Ernest Hudson Davis Sr. She was a member of Bethel Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and first husband, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by a son, James H. Coleman Jr. a sister, Eliza Richardson and four brothers, Evergie Lacks, Ben Lacks, John Henry Lacks and Sydney Lacks.
A funeral will be conducted on Saturday, March 2 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Terry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family is receiving friends at the residence, 5211 Black Walnut Road, Saxe, VA. Funeral services are by Jeffress Funeral Home.
