WM. LUEDTKE DIES, AGED 62
William Luedtke died yesterday at his residence, 716 North Tenth street, aged
62. He had been ill for some time, suffering from a complication of ailments,
including hardening of the arteries, which necessitated his having a leg
amputated last March. He had been confined to his home since last November. Mr.
Luedtke was born at Cooperstown, Sept. 3, 1858, and came to this city to reside
about thirty years ago and was employed for the most of that time as a teamster
by the Smalley Manufacturing company.
He leaves, besides the widow, two sons, William, Jr., and Arthur and two
daughters, Alma and Elsie. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the
German Evangelical church, Rev. Machmiller officiating, with burial at
Evergreen.
