Kenneth Joe Kraft, son of Annie May (Schubert) and Alex Louis Kraft, born on Mother's Day, May 13, 1951, died peacefully on April 26, 2011. A life-long resident of New Braunfels, his ancestors came here in 1844 with the original settlers and his family has remained in the community for 10 generations. Joe graduated from Canyon High School in 1969 and at the top of his class from Texas State Jr. College in Uvalde in 1971. Returning to New Braunfels after finishing college, he turned his summer job of working as a mason into his lifelong career. In 1978, he went into business for himself as Kenneth Joe Kraft Masonry. He continued in the masonry business for 30 years, doing work on many commercial, private and public buildings in the community. He was a member of the FFA, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Comal County Jr. Livestock Show Association, McQueeney Bass Club and the Texas Farm Bureau. He loved to hunt and fish with his friends and enjoyed the many years of showing livestock with his children.
