The 1920 United States Federal Census listed Adelaide Feeney as residing with her parents and three siblings, Helen, Walter and Grace Feeney in a house on Euclid Avenue West in Detroit, Michigan. Her father, John Lewis Feeney, supported his family working as a salesman for a pump company. Adelaide graduated from the Detroit Teacher's College, where she was a member of Alpha Sigma Tau. Adelaide and her husband, Ernest Kraetke, made their home in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. Both enjoyed gardening and Adelaide was an excellent cook and seamstress. They did not have any children of their own, however, their "door" was always open to their many nieces and nephews.
