Mrs. Arthur (Ella) Dodd, 79, a lifelong resident of the Baxter community, died Saturday at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. at the Congregational United church of Christ in Baxter.
The Rev. T. A. Thompson, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in Restland Cemetery in Baxter.
Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society will be accepted.
Survivors are three sisters,
Mrs. A. J. (Pauline) Clark of Marshalltown,
Mrs. Orville (Amanda) Conwell of Baxter and
Mrs. Adolph (Helen) Osterhagen of Marshalltown;
a brother
Edwin Chract (Kracht of Des Moines;
and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1966, parents, a brother and two sisters.
Mrs. Dodd was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ at Baxter.
The daughter of Conrad and Emma Harre Chract (Kracht), she was born May 6, 1893 at Baxter and was a graduate of Baxter Hight School.
Mrs. Dodd taught school for several years.
She was married in 1915 in Des Moines.
Mrs. Dodd had resided on a farm west of Baxter since her marriage."
