WAMEGO -- Edna Margaret Doperalski, 79, Wamego, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, at a Wamego nursing home.
Mrs. Doperalski taught home economics classes in several towns in Wisconsin and for eight years at Wamego High School.
She was born March 18, 1919, at Casco, Wis., the daughter of Joseph and Anna Stycka Koss. She was graduated from high school in 1937 at Casco, Wis., and she was graduated from the Stout Institute at Menomonie, Wis., in 1941.
She earned a master's degree at Kansas State University in 1970. She had lived in Wamego since 1960. Mrs. Doperalski was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, the Women's Guild, Home Extension Unit and Historical Society, all at Wamego.
She married David Doperalski on May 30, 1942, at Madison, Wis. He died Nov. 29, 1990.
Survivors include five sons, Vic Doperalski, Golden, Colo., Tom Doperalski, Wamego, Nick Doperalski, Frisco, Colo., Mark Doperalski, Wamego, and Matt Doperalski, Boise, Idaho; two sisters, Bette Kriwanek, Green Bay, Wis., and Magdaline Dhuey, Green Valley, Ariz.; and nine grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Wamego.
Burial will be at Wamego City Cemetery.
Mrs. Doperalski will lie in state after 10 a.m. Friday at the Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego where a wake service at 7 p.m. will be followed by visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or to the Wamego Historical Society and sent in care of the funeral home.
