GRAND PRAIRIE -- Amil F. Kohutek, 81, formerly of Abilene, died Saturday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Abilene with the Rev. LaVerne Janssen officiating, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home of Abilene. Local arrangements were made by Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home of Irving.
Mr. Kohutek served with the 36th Infantry Division's Battery C, 132nd Field Artillery in Italy, France, Germany and Austria during World War II. He participated in the Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, southern France, Rhineland and central Europe campaigns. He received the American Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and EAME Campaign Medal with five bronze stars. He was a retired truck driver. He was a past president and longtime secretary of the 36th Division Reunion Association and started the Battery C Reunion Association. He was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Abilene and was the widower of Pauline Kohutek.
