Alice Derr Koch, age 90, died peacefully at home, on Dec. 1.
She was born in Tamaqua, Pa. on Jan. 19, 1921 and married Lear A. Koch in Dec., 1942. An Army wife, she lived in Arkansas, Alabama, Virginia, Florida, and Germany, before retiring in Marietta, Ga., in 1983.
She devoted her life to her family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Bridge, cooking, and later in life, telling jokes. She was an accomplished knitter and seamstress. A caring wife and mother, she shepherded her children through their lives.
She is survived by her son, Lear Von Koch, MD, of Scranton, Pa., and daughters, Loni Davenport of Birmingham, Al., Dawn Sepe of Coral Gables, Fl., and Sharon Koch of Marietta, Ga., as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She chose cremation and burial in Skyview Cemetery, Tamaqua, Pa. where a service will be held at a later date.
