Luella M. Burgess
GIG HARBOR, Wash., Jan. 11. – (Special.) – Luella M. Burgess, wife of T. H. Burgess, died at her home here Thursday.
Mrs. Burgess, formerly Luella M. Knapp of Portland, Or., was born in Michigan in 1872, but moved to California when still a young girl. In 1893 she moved with her family to Portland where she attended the Portland university. After her graduation she taught at the old Fulton Park school. Later she became a member of the Portland teaching staff, teaching in the Stephens school until her marriage in 1919. In 1926 Mr. and Mrs. Burgess moved to Gig Harbor.
Mrs. Burgess is survived by her widower, T. H. Burgess, a brother, Burt K. Knapp of Seattle, a step-daughter, Ruth Burgess of Portland.
