The funeral will be Saturday for Frances Kluttz Fisher, 84, formerly of Woodleaf Road, who died Wednesday (Feb. 26, 2003) at Genesis Eldercare.
Born June 2, 1919, in Salisbury, Mrs. Fisher was a daughter of the late Charles Harris and Catherine Daisy Kluttz. She graduated from Salem College, Winston-Salem.
A teacher in the Landis and Granite Quarry schools, she was an associate teacher in the Salisbury City schools for nine years. Later she worked as a bookkeeper for Fisher ThompsonHardware, retiring with her husband in 1982.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a life member of the women of the church, of which she was a former vice president. She was a former superintendent of the church's week-day church school.
Her husband,Ellis Wood Fisher, died Feb. 17, 1994.
Survivors include sons Ellis Wood Fisher Jr., Cape Coral, Fla., and Dr. David K. Fisher, Wilmington; daughter Eleanor M. Sheets, Dallas, Texas; sister Josephine Kluttz Krider, Salisbury; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, St. John's Lutheran Church chapel, conducted by the Rev. Carl R. Sachtleben. Burial, Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
Visitation: 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, Summersett Funeral Home.
