M. Alberta (Klingensmith) Beers, 87, of Elderton, PA, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 at ACMH Hospital, Kittanning.

She was born May 20, 1928, in Parks Twp., Armstrong County, PA, the daughter of Elmer D. and Della M. (Suman) Klingensmith.

Alberta was a 1946 graduate of Vandergrift High School and then in 1957 she moved to the Elderton area. Her passion was caring for her family but in her spare time she enjoyed gardening, camping, puzzles, and playing scrabble. Alberta was a former member of the Elderton Ladies Bowling League. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will best be remembered for her love of the outdoors and taking care of her flowers.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Nancy Jacoby and husband, Marty of Elderton, and Sharon L. Miller and fiance, Don Hepler of Kittanning; sons, John Beers and companion, Mary Ann Delaney of Naples, FL, Dale E. Beers and fiance, Cindy Dugan of Johnstown, and Larry D. Beers and wife, Jodi of Kittanning; sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Laura Jean Hawthorne of Jay, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, H. Lloyd Beers whom she married November 22, 1946 and who died February 28, 2013; two sisters, Evelyn Mann and Audrey Lockard; and two brothers who died at infancy.

Relatives and friends may visit from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 S. Main Street, Elderton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, PA.

Contributions may be made in Alberta's honor to the Armstrong County Community Foundation, 220 S. Jefferson St., Kittanning, PA 16201, with "Asa Miller, Jr., Cancer Sux Foundation" noted on memo line.
