GIBSONVILLE - Mrs. Izone Kivett Cox, 75, of 3704 Huffine Mill Road, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at Twin Lakes Nursing Center, after failing health for 18 months and critically ill for one month.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Joe Hicks, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A native of Randolph County, she was the daughter of the late Mr. James Rezzie Kivett and Mrs. Verla Deviney Kivett of Pleasant Garden. She retired from GKN after 10 1/2 years of service. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and the Fidelis Sunday school class.
Survivors are two great-granddaughters, Miss Amanda Michael and Miss Maleigha Michael, both of Burlington; mother, Mrs. Verla Deviney Kivett of Pleasant Garden; two sisters, Mrs. Fanneline Brown of Liberty and Mrs. Shirley Williams of Greensboro; brother, James Fleming Kivett of Pleasant Garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. John Richard Cox, who died in 1976; father, Mr. James Rezzie Kivett; daughter, Mrs. Barbara Jean Roney; one granddaughter, Mrs. Denise Mann; and one grandson, Keith Roney.
Mrs. Cox will remain at Lowe Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes, prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
