Myrtle V. Kitts was born on Sept.12,1916,in Hamlin County, SD, and passed away on July 25,2000, at her home in Bothell,WA. She was the daughter of Carl and Dora(West)Hanson. When Myrtle was 13 years old, she moved with her family to Sandpoint, Idaho, where she met her husband, Irving, while in school. Myrtle and Irving were married in Sandpoint on Feb.20,1936,
and moved to Bothell, WA, in 1939. Their two daughters, Loretta and Joan, were born in Idaho;
their son, Gary, was born here in Seattle. With the exception of a seven-year period, the Kitts have lived in Bothell since 1939.
Myrtle worked in the grocery business for more than 30 years.Myrtle and Irving and her brother,
Clint, went into the grocery bu siness and operated the Night and Day Grocery on the Bothell-Everett Hwy. Later she operated a small resturant, along with a friend. Myrtle enjoyed cooking,gardening,sewing and knitting. Family vacations were always special to both her and her husband. They made extensive travels to all the US states except Maine and Vermont and also two neighboring countries. Myrtle was a member of
the Apostolic Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, Irving, to whom she was married for 64 years; her daughters,and their husbands, and their son and his wife,several grand children, brother Clinton Hanson; sister Evelyn White;numerous gr-grandchildren,nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents,Carl and Dora Hanson and her brother, Garold Hanson.
