DICKINSON — Joyce Lavern Kirby Bell, 51, passed away Tuesday, April 7,1998.

Mrs. Bell was born September 29, 1946, in Sugar Land, Texas. She was a Golden life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. (La Marque Alumnae Chapter); Shire of the True Cross Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America. She attended Kashmere High School and received a bachelor of science from Texas Southern University. Mrs. Bell was also, a substitute teacher with the Dickinson ISD.

Those left with precious memories are her husband, Leroy K. Bell; son, Leroy K. Bell Jr.; daughter, Alseen Eunice Bell; two step-daughters, Amy Ford and Tammie Creel; her father and step-mother, Clarence and Veronica Kirby; sister, Helen Iwuala; step-brother, Clarence Kirby; step sister, Valarie Kirby; mother-in-law, Alma Bell of Texas City; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Visitation will begin after 1 p.m. Thursday at the Mainland Funeral Home Chapel in La Marque. A celebration of life will begin at 7 p,m. Thursday at the chapel with the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority conducting their Omega Omega Service. Funeral services will be Friday, April 10, at 10 a.m. at the Shrine of the True Cross Catholic Church, 300 Pine Drive, Dickinson, Texas with Msgr. Milam Kleas, officiating. She will be laid to rest in Paradise North Cemetery in Houston.
