Her husband of sixty-five years, Herb, was by her side as she passed peacefully and entered her real home.
She is predeceased by her parents and her two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived also by her two sons, Donald (Linda) of Little Rock and Robert (Dian) of Fayetteville as well as grandchildren Mark Bacon and Scott Bacon (Mallory) of Little Rock and Katie Bacon and Bill Bacon of Fayetteville.
Mitzie was an active United Methodist who sang in the choir in her earlier years and was active in many service ministries in her later years. Her legacy is one of hospitality and generosity. Mitzie's cooking was admired by family and friends and relished by her sons's friends while they were growing up (particularly her famous chocolate chip cookies). She entertained at bridge parties, Sunday School socials and late night gatherings of friends of her boys. She gave generously of her money and her time.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 30 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home, 2602 W. Beebe-Capps Expressway, Searcy. The funeral service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. also at Powell Funeral Home followed by a private burial.
