POLIO ILLNESS PROVES FATAL TO MRS. KING
Mrs. Kenneth King, 24 year old victim of polio, died at 1:25 o'clock this morning in Grim-Smith hospital in Kirksville, where she had been a patient since Sunday.
She became ill Saturday. Tests made at the hospital disclosed Wednesday that she had been stricken with polio. She was placed in an iron lung Wednesday.
Mrs. King was a native of this vicinity. She and Mr. King had made their home in Kirksville since they were married July 14, 1946.
Mrs. King was a graduate of Madison High School and a member of the Christian Church here. She was employed in Jefferson City before her marriage.
She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Brenda, 23 months old; and her mother, Mr. Jewell Elsbury and a brother, Aaron Elsbury, near here.
No public funeral service will be held. The body will be brought to Madison, Mo., and a graveside service will be held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the Madison cemetery.
